About the Author

My name is Kimberly Patton and I live with my husband Kevin in beautiful Clermont, Florida. I love to run, bike, play Ultimate Frisbee, football, etc. I speak Spanish and volunteer often at Vida Real- a local Spanish Church. I work as a Retirement Counselor in Lake County and enjoy speaking with and helping public school teachers and employees save money for retirement. My husband and I have several strange pets- Turtles, bunnies, fish, and hamsters.

Writing has always been a passion of mine. In 7th grade I wrote a free-verse poem after 9-11 that was titled, "A letter to Osama Bin-Laden." My teacher was impressed and read it in front of the whole class. As a senior in High School I entered an essay into a scholarship contest about Integrity and won third place and $500. I filled dozens of notebooks with journal entries, poems and stories; writing nearly every day. Throughout college I learned more about writing and continued journaling.

In 2015, I listened to an audio book about Nicholas Sparks, author of "The Notebook" and other successful novels. He started writing on a whim and others discovered his talent. He didn't set out in a career of writing, it just kind of happened to him. I thought that if he could be so successful on accident, I could at the very least try and pursue writing as a passion and see what happens. Writing creative non-fiction memoirs for my blog has been in short, a lot of fun. Each post brings its own challenges and positive energy. I want to write to find the voice that God gave me, and I want it to share it with others. I welcome your comments, critiques, and of course, encouragement. My Mom is my biggest fan, but I am sure she wouldn't mind having some competition. Happy reading, friends!
